The State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers (S.H.O.P.O.) is the labor union representing our police officers from all four counties, Honolulu, Maui, Kauai, Hawaii.
The objectives and purposes of this Corporation are to promote the Professionalization and Specialization of police service;
To improve the economic, social and civil status of the members and efficiency in the police departments;
To represent and act for its members in matters affecting or arising out of their employment relationships;
And as such, serve as the exclusive bargaining representative for the membership of the Corporation on all collective bargaining with management as authorized by Act 171, Session Laws of Hawaii, 1970, State of Hawaii;
To achieve the purposes and objectives of this Corporation through legislation, legal and other appropriate means;
And to include any other purpose which would be beneficial to the collective membership of this Corporation. |
